It is interesting how the concept of “family” has changed drastically.
It is not uncommon to see children being raised by someone other than their parents.
Some circumstances involve Children’s Services intervention due to the neglect of abuse issues while other circumstances involve abandonment, mental health or agreement and do not have Children’s Services involvement.
Other family members or close friends or interested individuals may apply under the Family Law Act to become a guardian to a child and for a Parenting Order.
